Current Campaigns : National Recycling Week : Meet the Sponsors

Meet the Sponsors
We’d like to thank our Major Sponsor Visy Recycling and our Associate Sponsors The Aluminium Can Group, Bartercard, ‘Cartridges for Planet Ark’ and the Publishers National Environment Bureau for making National Recycling Week possible.

MAJOR SPONSOR - VISY RECYCLING

At Visy our aim is to transform waste from the urban environment into valuable, desirable products.

At Visy, this is our passion, we make it, we take and we recycle it.

This is what we call the closed loop.

Visy Recycling processes more than 2 million tonnes of recyclables per year in Australia and New Zealand - material that otherwise would have ended up in landfill.

Visy services nearly 2.2 million households and 30,000 schools and businesses every week. Committed also to providing education about recycling and the environment, programs such as ‘Environment Detective’ and ‘World Recycling Games’ are available via Visy’s website www.visy.com.au For more information or to start recycling today, please call 1300 368 479.

The Aluminium Can Group

Bartercard

Bartercard is the world’s largest business to business (B2B) trade exchange that assists more than 30,000 Australian and New Zealand businesses to trade goods and services without the need for cash. Bartercard helps small to medium businesses boost their sales, cashflow, profits and customer base.

Bartercard believes businesses must lead the way and drive change to ensure they are positively impacting the environment. Bartercard is sponsoring research carried out on behalf of Planet Ark by Pollinate Green. This research investigates community attitudes towards recycling and plays an important role in helping Planet Ark shape its community education campaigns. Bartercard supports a cleaner and greener environment. www.bartercard.com.au

‘Cartridges for Planet Ark’

This very successful printer cartridge recycling program has now diverted over 5 million cartridges from Australia’s landfills.

Collection boxes are located in major retail stores that sell printer cartridges such as Australia Post, Officeworks, Harvey Norman and Dick Smith Electronics stores, and also in over 15 000 businesses across the country.

The program is sponsored by the manufacturers of cartridges such as Lexmark, HP and Brother and sends zero waste to landfill, guaranteed. Printer cartridges are recycled by resource and recovery partner Close the Loop in Melbourne, producing a revolutionary wood replacement product called eWood that can be used in fencing, signage, furniture and much more.

For more information or to find out your closest drop off location, visit www.planetark.com/cartridges or call the ‘Cartridges 4 Planet Ark’ hotline on 1800 24 24 73.

The Publishers National Environmental Bureau

The Publishers National Environment Bureau (PNEB) represents Australia's newspaper and magazine publishers to support newspaper and magazine recycling. The work of the Bureau and the industry over the last 16 years has helped Australia achieve the world's best rate of newspaper recycling (75.4 per cent on the latest figures).
