Male Komodo Dragon Undergoes Traditional Chinese Acupuncture Treatment at the Singapore Zoo

With acupuncture needles sticking out of his face, legs, and back, Tirto, an eight-year-old male Komodo dragon undergoes traditional Chinese acupuncture treatment administered by veterinarian Oh Soon Hock at the Singapore Zoological Gardens, September 2, 2003.

Tirto, weighing 42 kg (92 pounds) and measuring 2.3 metres (7.5 feet) long had been having problems eating and walking. The zoo initially tried steroid treatment, but has now turned to traditional Chinese acupuncture for the problem.
