Anne-Marie began her time at Planet Ark as Project Manger for National Tree Day, Planet Ark's largest campaign. Quickly promoted to General Manager, she has recruited and built an enthusiastic team for Planet Ark that is ready to tackle the myriad challenges of environmental education and campaigning.Anne-Marie has a Bachelor of Arts in Applied Communications and a Masters Degree in International Politics, specialising in Global Environmental Relations.
Her 12 years experience in the non-profit sector are a testament to her social conscience and passion for the environment and sustainability. She has worked in fund-raising, event-management and publicity for Amnesty International, the NSW Wildlife Information and Rescue Service and Oxfam (Community Aid Abroad), where she was the aid group's national spokesperson.
Most recently, she spent 4 years at the Media Entertainment and Arts Alliance, managing the Walkley Awards for Excellence in Journalism.
In her spare time, she likes to explore exotic natural locales, dine with local folk and get up close and personal with wildlife. She has been known to trek Urang Utans in the Jungles of Borneo, assist with Orca research in the sub-arctic waters of British Columbia and aspires to collect and help research large, articulated insects in Costa Rica.
Her great hope is that Planet Ark's work will encourage Australians to embrace and protect the natural wonders of our continent for the enjoyment of future generations.
